The SSL Origin 16 gives you the same iconic sound and extensive feature set as the Origin 32 console, but with half the channel count in a more compact and affordable package. We here at Pro Audio LA will provide you with a tailored patchbay and cabling package that will be built to your workflow needs at our custom cable shop in Glendale, CA.
Our custom cabling package for the SSL Origin 16 can be ordered in Standard or Premium finish. We use Mogami multi-channel snake, Neutrik Gold connectors and pins for all our cables. Every cable in the package for the Origin 16 is 15 feet long. This length can be customized based on the size of your room, location of your patchbays or other considerations.
Our Origin 16 cabling package includes all the cables needed to connect all the connections of the console to the patchbays. Any connections for converter/interface inputs and outputs are determined based on the users needs. All connections for outboard gear is not part of the cable package but can be customized and included into the package after consultation.
Cabling Package details:
The physical connections on the back of a SSL Origin 16 console are organized into 3 groups.- 16 XLR-Male connections for Mic Preamp inputs.
- 2x DB25 sections split into groups of 7 DB25 connectors (14 total). Each group for Ch 1-8 and 9-16 respectively. This includes, Line I/O, Large and Small fader inserts, Monitor Line I/O and Direct Outputs.
- A Master section with 13 DB25 connections that includes Main Mix Out, Stereo Inserts, Cues, Aux Out, Monitor Out, Bus Out, External Inputs, Talkback, OSC etc.

Labelling Options:
1. Label Patchbays and set Normals and Grounds:
We will create and print custom patchbay labels for you and insert them into the patchbay label strips. We will also set all the Normal and Ground switches on the patchbay according to your chosen workflow. All you have to do is plug all your cables in and start patching right away.
2. Label all cabling with Custom label shrink so plugging cables in is a breeze:
We will print custom label shrinks for every single snake in the cable package. This will allow you to identify the right cable for the right connection on the console and on the patchbay easily. All you have to do is follow the labels and connect your cables to get up and running.
3. Both of the above:
Get both services listed above and make integrating your console super straightforward. This is a turnkey solution to simplify the integration process.
