  • The Primacoustic MaxTrap is a very effective bass trap in any application. It combines a diaphragmatic resonator, a full-size acoustic panel and sealed enclosure into a 3-way acoustic treatment system effective through the full frequency spectrum. This unique design starts with a 3" thick front-mounted 24" x 48" panel made from 6lb per cubic foot high-density glass wool fiber. This efficiently absorbs frequencies down to 100Hz. Behind the panel, a sealed air cavity takes advantage of quarter-wavelength principles to further absorb low frequency energy down to 50 hz. Where the MaxTrap really shines is in its ability to absorb deep, low bass.

The MaxTrap's amazing low frequency extension is achieved with a suspended diaphragm that stretches the full length of the panel, capturing low frequency information by vibrating where it is most prominent. As room modes combine, they either reinforce certain frequencies or cancel them out. The MaxTrap's limp-mass structure migrates to the most powerful frequencies where it quietly resonates to eliminate excess low end energy.

MaxTraps ship flat and assemble easily using household tools. Best installed in corners where low frequency energy tends to accumulate. For spaces where obstructions don't allow corner mounting, the wall-mounted FullTrap is an excellent alternative. Combined with other Primacoustic Broadway panels and diffusers, nearly any space can be made into an acoustically balanced environment.
