The IGS 825EQ Mastering Equalizer comes standard with a Boost/Cut Range of +/-12dB. This allows you to apply more boost or cut, thus letting the EQ work as a tone shaper, while still allowing for subtle adjustments in mastering. However, many mastering engineers prefer a +/-6dB range with 0.5dB steps for more precise adjustments to fine tune and balance mixes within a tighter adjustment range.
