The CEDAR DNS 8D is a Dante-enabled hardware unit that offers eight simultaneous channels of noise-reduction, allowing you to reduce the sound of air conditioners, traffic, rain, fan noise, and more in real time. It can also ameliorate issues due to unflattering acoustic environments, poor mic positioning, and excessive reverberation. Use the device in newsrooms, sports studios, houses of worship, conferences, concert halls, and other places where you might seek a networked pro-audio solution.
While Cedar has offered this kind of technology before in an eight-channel live-use device, this is the first one with eight channels of Dante over Ethernet ports. Thus, it provides industry-standard networking with minimal latency. The unit also gives you eight channels of AES I/O over DB25 connections, allowing you to minimize cable clutter.
A browser-based remote control is available, so you can install the DNS 8D in a determined location and operate it over a network. Used in this way, you can operate the DNS 8D with smartphones, tablets, and laptops, all while making use of an easy-to-understand GUI. In order to suit the needs of users who operate the device in critical broadcast scenarios, the unit sports other useful features such as a fail-safe audio bypass and redundant power via 4-pin and IEC power inputs.
