The Auteur mkIII 2-Channel Mic Preamp from Black Lion Audio combines modern high-speed front-end input stages that capture every transient detail and nuance with output stages coupled with Cinemag transformers to provide vintage color and a fat low end. The 1/4" Hi-Z instrument/line inputs on the front panel let you add console-style warmth directly to instruments at the input, or add outboard effects, or even full mixes—all while keeping transients intact.
Each channel supplies up to 62 dB of gain, along with 48V phantom power, phase inversion, and a 10 dB pad. The mkIII preamp's fast response and revamped gain stage offer lower noise, lower distortion, and an extended frequency response that's well suited for use on vocals, electric guitars, bass, and even drums. Housed in a 1 RU, half-rack chassis, this preamp can also be linked together with a second half-rack unit by using the included connector plate.
