The Avid S4 Control Surface is a customizable semi-modular control surface that harnesses the mixing power of the award-winning Avid S6 in a smaller, more affordable package. With an intuitive interface, an ergonomic design and total tactile control over your favorite DAW, the S4 is the perfect fit for any workflow. The S4—24-fader, 5-foot base configuration is the largest and most expansive surface in the S4 series, making it ideal for mid-size music studios, large audio post facilities with editing suites, and media education facilities.
UNMATCHED HANDS-ON CONTROL
The heart of every S4 control surface is the Master Touch Module,which offers quick access to your mix and control parameters using the built-in touchscreen and rotary encoders for fine-tuning parameters. The built-in Automation Module features a full transport control section with a jog wheel, a focus fader, automation control, a numeric keypad, and more. The S4—24-fader, 5-foot base configuration includes three of the new Channel Strip Modules for a total of 24 faders and 96 assignable knobs for controlling track levels, plugins and more.
FLEXIBLE SEMI-MODULAR DESIGN
The Avid S4’s semi-modular design can be customized to suit your workflow. Equip the S4—24-fader, 5-foot base configuration with up to four Display Modules for in-depth visual feedback on your mix. Or choose up to two optional Attention Knob Modules with 32 assignable top-lit knobs each for fine-tuning your mix.
The S4—24-fader, 5-foot base configuration can also be customized for post production facilities using the optional Joystick Module, which features dual touch-sensitive joysticks with TFT and OLED displays for precise placement when working with surround sound mixes and immersive audio formats like Dolby Atmos. The optional Post Module offers two rows of PEC/DIRECT paddles to quickly A/B multiple sound sources.

S4 is EUCON-enabled and offers intelligent control over Pro Tools, Nuendo, Pyramix, Logic Pro, Cubase, and other audio software for faster, more efficient mixing. You can even mix tracks from two different DAWs simultaneously. And with advanced metering capabilities and visual feedback for Pro Tools waveforms, you can rest assured you’re making well-informed mix decisions.
